Kansas State looked for its second straight win over a ranked opponent, but eighth-ranked Texas held off K-State’s rally for a 75-64 win on Sunday afternoon at Bramlage Coliseum. Kansas State (9-6, 1-3 Big 12) was paced by junior Kayla Goth and sophomore Peyton Williams with a combined 39 points. For the first time in the history of the series, Kansas State defeated (12/11) West Virginia at WVU Coliseum, pulling off a 60-52 upset. According to a report from Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Kansas City Royals have offered Eric Hosmer a seven-year, $147 million contract. Hosmer, who is asking for an eight or nine year contract, also has a seven-year, $140 million offer on the table from the San Diego Padres. Left fielder Alex Gordon currently owns the largest contract in Royals’ history. He signed a four-year, $72 million deal back in 2015. Hosmer was much better at the plate in 2017. He hit .318 with 25 homers and 94 RBI just a season to go.

(AP) — A person familiar with his decision says Bill Snyder will return for his 27th season with Kansas State, ending weeks of speculation about the future of the 78-year-old coach. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Tuesday because Snyder has not made his plans public.
