The Kansas Department of Labor says unemployment remained unchanged in November at 2.9 statewide, which is also consistent for where unemployment was at one year ago. Riley County’s unemployment rate is at 1.7%. Pottawatomie County is at 1.6%. Geary County is at 3.3%. Seasonally adjusted job estimates indicate total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 2,700 from October, including private sector and government employers. Alma, KS – A Wabaunsee High School wrestling coach is under investigation and was arrested following multiple claims of crimes against children. The Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office says that on Monday, Dec. 18, they were made aware of multiple allegations of offenses against minors and called to the USD 329 district office.
