The Pittsburgh Penguins are the first team in 19 years to win a second straight Stanley Cup as they completed the feat with a 2-0 shutout of the Predators in Nashville. Kansas State head coach Bruce Weber announced the addition of junior transfer Patrick Muldoon (Basehor, Kan./Basehor-Linwood/Eastern Illinois) as a walk-on on Thursday. According to a release from K-State Athletics, he’s a 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward from Basehor, Kansas, Muldoon joins the Wildcats after a two-year stint at Eastern Illinois in Charleston, Illinois, where he played for head coach Jay Spoonhour during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. He will sit out the 2017-18 season due to NCAA regulations and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining starting in the 2018-19 season. He is eligible to practice with the team immediately. NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Bob Stoops had been the longest-tenured active head football coach. Not anymore. Stoops has retired after 18 seasons at Oklahoma. Stoops was 190-48 with the Sooners, winning 10 Big 12 titles and the 2000 national championship. The 56-year-old Stoops says the time is right to step down, but adds his health had nothing to do with his decision. The Sooners moved quickly to name a replacement, elevating offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley. The 33-year-old Riley becomes the youngest head coach in the Bowl Subdivision.
