(K-State Sports) – Senior outside hitter Brooke Sassin notched her 1,000th career kill in the Kansas State volleyball team’s four-set victory (23-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-21) over Oklahoma Wednesday night at Ahearn Field House. Sassin becomes just the sixth player in K-State history to eclipse the 1,000-kill milestone in the rally-scoring era (since 2001). MANHATTAN, Kansas (Randy Peterson) – Kansas State women’s basketball used a balanced performance and a strong second quarter to record the program’s 300th win in Bramlage Coliseum with an 82-62 decision over Tulsa on Monday night. Kansas State (2-0) had five players in double figures led by All-American candidate Breanna Lewis with 18 points, six rebounds and two blocks. (AP) Marcus Peters stripped Kelvin Benjamin with 20 seconds left, Cairo Santos kicked a 37-yard field goal as time expired, and the Kansas City Chiefs overcame a 17-point deficit to top the Carolina Panthers 20-17 on Sunday.
