WACO, Texas (K-State Sports) – The 23rd-ranked Kansas State volleyball team saw its 10-match winning streak come to an end Sunday at the hands of the Baylor Bears in three sets (25-23, 25-22, 25-19) at the Ferrell Center. K-State (12-3, 1-1 Big 12) jumped out to a quick 13-8 lead in the first set, forcing Baylor (13-4, 1-0) to use a timeout. (AP) The Kansas City Chiefs returned two turnovers for touchdowns, intercepted three passes in the end zone and forced eight turnovers total in a 24-3 victory over the hapless New York Jets on Sunday. Marcus Peters had two of the picks for the Chiefs (2-1), including the first of four off the Jets’ Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter. (ESPN) – Former K-State basketball star Michael Beasley has a new home in the NBA. The Houston Rockets traded forward Michael Beasley to the Milwaukee Bucks for guard Tyler Ennis on Thursday. The 6-foot-9 Beasley was signed by the Rockets late last season after spending time with the Shandong Golden Stars of the Chinese Basketball League. In 20 games with Houston, Beasley averaged 12.8 points over 18.2 minutes per game. The 27-year-old Beasley has averaged 13.0 points and 4.8 rebounds over eight NBA seasons that has also included stops in Miami, Minnesota and Phoenix.

(K-State Sports) – Thanks to a 75-yard punt-return touchdown in the third quarter last week against Florida Atlantic, Kansas State wide receiver/returner Dominque Heath has been named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning. The honor was the first in Heath’s career and K-State’s 21st special teams player-of-the-week honor since 2011. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Yordano Ventura picked up his first complete-game victory, Kendrys Morales hit a three-run homer and the Kansas City Royals defeated the Chicago White Sox 8-3 Monday. The Royals have won three straight, keeping their faint playoff hopes flickering with 12 games remaining. The Royals went 14-5 against the White Sox this year.
