ARLINGTON, TX (UFL) – The United Football League today announced Birmingham Stallions quarterback Adrian Martinez as the 2024 UFL Most Valuable Player. Martinez led the league in rushing with 528 yards through the regular season. He was No. 3 in passing with 1,749 yards and tied for second in passing touchdowns with 15. Wamego, KS – After leading Wamego softball to its second-straight 4A state championship, right-handed pitcher Peyton Hardenburger was the named the Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year. Announced in a press release Friday morning by Gatorade. Hardenburger led the Red Raiders to a 23-2 overall record, NCKL championship, regional championship and a 4A state championship last month in Salina. In the three-game state tournament run, she tossed 31 innings pitched, with 63 strikeouts and back-to-back no-hitters. For the third time in program history and for the first time since 2021, Rock Creek baseball can call themselves state champions. The Mustangs got it done by winning two games Friday in a span of about nine hours. In the semifinals, the Mustangs beat Paola by a 10-5 final. To win the state title, they beat Pratt 7-3. 2024 was a historic year for Rock Creek baseball. Not only did they win a state title, the Mustangs’ 23 regular season wins set a new program record. Rock Creek win ends it season with a record of 28-1.
