Just find a way to win. That’s exactly what the Kansas City Chiefs did Sunday afternoon against AFC rival Denver Broncos. With one second left, Leo Chenal of the Chiefs blocked the Broncos’ game-winning 35 yard field for Kansas City to remain unbeaten. Chiefs win it 16-14 to move to 9-0 on the season. The cross country seasons wrapped up Saturday in rainy conditions. Send 6A, 5A and 3A to Lawrence. Then 4A, 2A and 1A in Wamego. Wamego Boys – 4A For the second time in three season, the Wamego boys’ cross country team has won a state championship. The Red Raiders had five runners finish in the top 16 at a rainy Wamego Country Club. All together, earning 52 team points. 14 points better than powerhouse Buhler. Rock Creek In Hutchinson, the 2-seed Rock Creek Mustangs needed three sets to reach the state championship game. Taking down Topeka-Hayden in the semifinals 25-23, 21-25, 25-20.
