Applications are now being accepted for Riley County small businesses that have incurred financial struggles as a result of COVID-19.
Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce is administering the $2.5 million in grants made available by Riley County, as part of the federal CARES Act. Chamber Economic Development Director Daryn Soldan spoke with KMAN recently about the need in the local business community.
“We know there’s a lot of folks out there, everyone’s being impacted differently. I think for some folks, this is going to be significant,” he said.
The application period is open until Nov. 2.
Up to $15,000 may be available to qualifying, eligible businesses. If a business is owned mostly by minorities, women, disadvantaged or veterans, it may be eligible for additional 10 percent in funds. Applicants must certify and document payment on eligible expenses between March 1 and November 2.
