Arraignment was held Friday for a Wamego man charged with possessing child pornography.

Scott Hertzig entered a plea agreement in Pottawatomie County District Court for two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. The two counts are alleged to have occurred in April 2021. Judge Jeff Elder presided over the hearing, informing Hertzig of what he is waiving by entering a plea agreement.

Sentencing will take place at 2 p.m. April 21st at the Pottawatomie County Justice Center. Hertzig will be required to register as a sex offender.

Sentencing also took place Friday for Clinton Platt, of Wamego, who was charged with three counts of exploitation of a child and one county of methamphetamine possession. Platt was given 24 months probation, with an underlying sentence of 26 months to run concurrently for the first two charges.

Platt will have to have his electronic devices monitored by the department of corrections.
