The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers filed a report for theft in the 4100 block of Spook Rock Way in Manhattan on January 8, 2021, at approximately 11:22 a.m. Officers listed a 27-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole her white 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $28,000.00. On January 8, 2021, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the vehicle was located in Geary County by Kansas Highway Patrol and returned. Officers filed a report for criminal discharge of a firearm and criminal damage to property in the 2100 block of Prairie Glen Pl. in Manhattan on January 9, 2021, at approximately 12:52 a.m. Officers listed a 21-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged a door and discharged a firearm. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $150.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Rd. in Manhattan on January 10, 2021, at approximately 10:23 a.m. Officers listed Riley County Police Department as the victim when it was reported a 28-year-old male suspect confined in the Riley County Jail damaged a phone kiosk. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00.
