The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 300 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. in Manhattan on October 24, 2019 at approximately 2:50 PM. Officers listed Best Buy as the victim when it was reported two unknown suspects took two Bose headphones. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $763.00. Officers ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service allows you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward up to $1,000.00.

Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Poyntz Avenue and Park Road in Manhattan on October 24, 2019 at approximately 5:30 PM. When officers arrived on scene, they found a black 2009 Audi A4 driven by Curtis McDaniel, 33, of Junction City crashed with a gray 2012 Toyota Camry driven by Kathryn Sexton, 38, of Manhattan. A passenger was transported to Via Christi for treatment of their injuries. McDaniel was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection.

Those with information about crimes in our area are encouraged to contact RCPD or the Manhattan-Riley County Crime Stoppers
