The Kansas Department of Transportation has extended the closure of a portion of K-13 north of Manhattan after weather-related delays slowed construction progress.
K-13 between U.S. 24 and Tuttle Cove Road has been closed since January and was originally expected to reopen this spring. KDOT now anticipates reopening the highway by the end of July, weather permitting.
Detours will remain in place during the closure. Motorists east of K-13 are encouraged to use K-99 and K-16, while those west of K-13 can utilize U.S. 77 and K-16. Drivers may follow the signed detour routes or choose alternate routes as appropriate.
KDOT noted that all project work and traffic changes remain subject to weather and other conditions.
