The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers filed a report for burglary in the 600 block of Pottawatomie Ave. in Manhattan on November 3, 2020, at approximately 8:02 a.m. Officers listed Hummel Tree Service as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole Husqvarna 395XP, 390XP, Stihl MS261C, and MS462C chainsaws from work trucks. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $4,120.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for burglary and criminal damage to property in the 1300 block of Marlatt Ave. in Manhattan on November 3, 2020, at approximately 10:57 a.m. Officers listed a 22-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect broke into his truck and stole a Plano Fish and Tackle backpack, fishing items, hats, and prescription pills and damage the vehicle’s interior. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $664.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
