    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for aggravated assault and interference with LEO in Manhattan on March 12, 2021, at approximately 9:28 p.m. Officers listed a 38-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 25-year-old male suspect displayed a firearm at him.

    Officers filed a report for unlawful discharge of a firearm in city limits in the 500 block of Bertrand St. in Manhattan on March 13, 2021, at approximately 1:13 a.m. Officers listed no victim when it was reported an unknown suspect discharged a firearm. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for theft and criminal use of a financial card in the 3100 block of Anderson Ave. in Manhattan on March 13, 2021, at approximately 9:45 a.m. Officer listed Union State Bank and Robbins Motor Co. LLC as the victims when it was reported a 30-year-old male suspect stole a black 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 and made unauthorized transactions with a credit card. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $34,243.00.

    Officers filed a report for forgery and theft by deception in the 1000 block of Westloop Pl. in Manhattan on March 31, 2021, at approximately 10:09 a.m. Officers listed a 35-year-old male and Kansas State Bank as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect used a forged check to withdraw money. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,500.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for burglary in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Rd. in Manhattan on March 13, 2021, at approximately 11:16 a.m. Officers listed a 17-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect broke into an unlocked vehicle and stole a Steve Madden purse containing a gold necklace. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $735.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in Manhattan on March 13, 2021, at approximately 12:00 p.m. Officers listed a 25-year-old female and a 38-year-old male as the victims when it was reported a 25-year-old male suspect slashed their tires. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,200.00.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated assault in the 900 block of Humboldt St. in Manhattan on March 13, 2021, at approximately 3:44 p.m. Officers listed an unknown victim when it was reported a 19-year-old male fired a weapon at them. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for battery and criminal damage to property in the 1300 block of Anderson Ave. in Manhattan on March 14, 2021, at approximately 3:01 a.m. Officers listed 20- and 23-year-old males and a 22-year-old female as the victims when it was reported 20- and 23-year-old male suspects injured them and broke a windshield. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 2100 block of Blue Hills Rd. in Manhattan on March 14, 2021, at approximately 3:09 a.m. Officers listed a 71-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect threw a full beer can throw a window. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for burglary in the 2100 block of Prairie Field Pl. in Manhattan on March 14, 2021, at approximately 5:31 p.m. Officers listed 25- and 64-year-old males a 50-year-old female as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect stole multiple items. The estimated total loss associated with this case is still being determined but is believed to be over $1,000.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
