Officers filed a report for aggravated arson in the 2100 block of Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan on April 29, 2021, at approximately 2:44 p.m. Officers listed Manhattan High West USD 383 and a 49-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 17-year-old male suspect lit a trash can on fire in an occupied building. No injuries were reported. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $50.00. Ryan Joshua Tierney, 17, of Manhattan was arrested in connection on the offense of aggravated arson and transported to the Geary County Juvenile Detention Center.
Officers filed a report for aggravated battery near the intersection of Allen Rd. and Casement Rd. in Manhattan on April 29, 2021, at approximately 2:47 p.m. Officers listed a 20-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect shot her with a BB gun.
