The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers filed a report for aggravated assault in the 1200 block of Bluemont Ave in Manhattan on July 30, 2020, at approximately 8:14 PM. Officers listed a 27-year-old male and a 23-year-old female as the victims when it was reported a 23-year-old male pointed a gun at them. On July 30, 2020, at approximately 8:27 PM, Austin Carter, 23, of Manhattan was arrested in connection on two charges of aggravated assault. Carter was issued a total bond of $5,000.00. Carter was no longer confined at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 1400 block of College Ave in Manhattan on July 30, 2020, at approximately 10: 03 PM. Officers listed a 30-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took his specialized bicycle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $600.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
