The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 2100 block of Westchester Dr in Manhattan on August 3, 2020, at approximately 10:38 AM. Officers listed a 24-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged his 2013 Honda Civic. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for arson in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Rd in Manhattan on August 3, 2020, at approximately 11:08 AM. Officers listed a 36-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect lit grass and a shed on fire. Officers filed a report for sexual battery in Manhattan on August 3, 2020, at approximately 3:30 PM. Officers listed a 20-year-old male as the victim and a 21-year-old male known to him as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 6000 block of Tuttle Ter in Manhattan on August 3, 2020, at approximately 6:26 PM. Officers listed a 22-year-old female and a 21-year-old male as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect took a whirlpool washer and dryer.
