Riley County health officials confirmed 15 new coronavirus cases and one additional recovery on Friday.
Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan is currently caring for seven positive patients, including one patient in the Intensive Care Unit. The total number of coronavirus cases in Riley County since the start of the pandemic is now 6,040 with the total number of active cases at 252. Riley County has also seen 5,757 recoveries during that time.
Even with the decrease in COVID-19 numbers in Riley County, health officials continue to urge the community to wear masks, social distance, and keep social gatherings small.

This week the Health Department continued vaccinating those 65 and older with severe health conditions and those who are homebound. To date, 4,932 vaccines have been administered by the Riley County Health Department and more than 15.000 people have registered to receive the vaccine.
