    Riley County reports two new positive cases of COVID-19, one hospitalization

    Two new positive cases of coronavirus were announced Monday in Riley County.

    The newest to test positive are from the same household. They include a 44-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man. Ascension Via Christi also is reporting one positive patient in the intensive care unit, currently on a ventilator according to the Riley County Health Department. Two people are also under investigation for symptoms of COVID-19, and one of them also is on a ventilator.

    There are currently seven active cases and 66 overall positive cases since mid-March. There have been 58 people recover from the virus and 109 pending test results. The health department is reporting 1,105 negative test results. One person has died from the virus.

    Pottawatomie County currently has two active cases, two probable cases, 6 pending test results and 22 recovered patients. A total of 584 tests have been conducted in Pottawatomie County.

    Statewide, nearly 300 new positive cases were announced since Friday, bringing the total number of statewide positive cases since March to 10,011. A total of 217 people have died from the virus in Kansas, including one person in Riley County.
