Update: Geary County Sheriff’s Office names victim of deadly ATV crash

JUNCTION CITY — The victim of a deadly ATV crash in Geary County has been identified.

The Geary County Sheriff’s Office says 48-year-old Mark Jackson of Milford was spraying a field near Ava Road in rural Geary County Tuesday afternoon when the ATV he was riding on overturned and rolled down an embankment, pinning him underneath the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Junction City Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.

GEARY COUNTY — One person is dead following an ATV accident Tuesday in rural Geary County.

The Geary County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called out to a rural field just off of Ava Road shortly after 4:30 p.m. in reference to an unresponsive man pinned under an ATV. Emergency responders determined the man to be dead upon their arrival. He’s been identified as a Milford resident in his mid-to-late 40’s, but was not named by authorities, as they work to contact family members.

Information on how the accident occurred has not been released. Junction City Fire/EMS also responded.
