Chiefs hot start fizzles as Browns roll 30-7

Jamaal Charles ripped of an 80-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage Sunday afternoon at Cleveland Browns Stadium, unfortunately for Kansas City there were still more than 59 minutes left in the game and the Chiefs could not muster anything else on offense as the Cleveland Browns steadily pulled away for a 30-7 victory.

Kicker Ryan Succop had a chance to put the Chiefs up 10-0 in the first quarter but his field goal attempt hit the upright and the Browns were able to get untracked from there. Travis Benjamin had a 93-yard punt return and rookie Trent Richardson scored on a pair of one-yard touchdown runs as the Browns won their third consecutive game.

After last week’s emotional win over Carolina the Chiefs could not extend their winning streak as they fell to 2-11 on the season. The Chiefs will be on the road again next Sunday when they travel to Oakland to face their arch-rivals the Raiders.
