Riley County commissioners approved budget revisions for community corrections Monday morning.
The FY2016 revisions dealt with behavioral health and adult services and the budget revisions amounted to $107,313 and $438,341, respectively.
It should be noted, however, that those are monies appropriated by the state, but must be approved by the Riley County Board of Commissioners before it is dispersed.
Riley County did have to chip in to the community corrections budget earlier this summer, though.
Community Corrections Director Shelly Williams said cuts from the state didn’t allow her to work in merit increases and commissioners approved $15,306 earlier this summer to make up for that difference.
In other items, Riley County Public Works Director Leon Hobson said minor work will began today on Deep Creek Road and should wrap up by the end of the day on Tuesday. Traffic will be allowed to continue, but he said delays of 15 minutes should be expected.
Hobson also said a culvert replacement project near North 52nd Street will begin on Aug. 3 and should take a week to complete.
“The project is located approximately 500 feet west of Silver Creek Road,” he said. “The road will be closed to all traffic just west of the project to Silver Creek Road.”
For both projects Hobson cautioned that completion dates are dependent on weather conditions and that alternate routes around the projects are recommended.
