Tolsdorf was recovered at approximately 7:24 PM and pronounced deceased. An autopsy has been requested.

Riley County Police responded to a drowning at Tuttle Creek River Pond Friday evening. RCPD Public Information Officer Mat Droge confirmed the drowning shortly after 7:30 p.m.
Droge indicates RCPD received an initial call of a person in the water at 5:24 p.m. Droge further reports this call was regarding a male in the icy water who subsequently succumbed to the cold temperatures. A victim was recovered at 7:24. Details regarding that victim are not yet available.
The PIO adds several agencies responded including RCPD, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Riley County EMS, Manhattan Fire Department, Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Department, Blue Township and Riley County Fire Departments, and the U-S Army Corps of Engineers. Both RCPD and Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks are working the investigation and news releases are expected later.
