TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) An adult in south-central Kansas who became ill last month has been confirmed as the state’s first flu case of the season.
The Kansas City Star reports the Kansas Department of Health and Environment announced the laboratory-confirmed case on Tuesday.
Flu cases typically increase during the holidays and peaks around February. Last year’s flu season didn’t peak until mid-March was the latest on record in Kansas.
