17 walks and five errors by Hartford helped K-State score double digit runs on just six hits in a 13-2 victory on Sunday over the Hawks at Tointon Family Stadium. The Cats earned a four game sweep, and were keyed by Wade Hinkle at the plate, who knocked in three runs and scored four times. Freshman pitcher Matt Wivness struck out six in his first start, working into the fifth inning, and Jared Moore earned the win in relief.
K-State baseball is now 9-6 on the season, and will head out on the road for a tough five-game trip this week. The Cats will play two mid-week at Minnesota in the Metrodome, with a 6:35pm first pitch on Tuesday night. Pregame will be at 6:00 on KMAN.
K-State will open Big 12 play this weekend at Texas A&M.
