Haley Texada scored 17 points and Bri Craig had 16 as the K-State women’s basketball team opened their trip overseas with a 69-46 victory over the Italy All-Stars on Sunday. The Cats trailed just once in the game played under FIBA rules with four ten-minute quarters, and led 34-29 at the half.
Texada also tied for the K-State lead with three assists while Craig hit a team-high four three-pointers. Freshman post Breanna Lewis had nine rebounds to go with four points. Riley County alum Kelly Thomson made her debut in a K-State uniform with nine points and five rebounds.
K-State will return to action Monday at 1:30pm central time, as the Cats will face the Vicenza All-Stars.
