KSU Blood Drive set to begin Tuesday

Tuesday and Wednesday the KSU Rock N’ Roll Up Your Sleeve Blood Drive is taking place at the K-State Student Union.

Kristi Ingalls, American Red Cross Senior Donor Recruitment Representative, says the drive will offer donors chances to win prizes and possibly a scholarship.

“We have a $5,000 eligible to students ages 16-21,” Ingalls says. “We are also giving away six Gibson guitars.”

The drive begins at 10am each day and runs until 3pm.

Ingalls says with national appeal in effect for the 4th straight week due to lack of donations the Red Cross could really use more donations.

“About 38% of the national population is eligible to give blood, but only 5% of those eligible tend to donate blood.”

The Red Cross is currently on their 4th week on national appeal to learn how you can give blood or to find information on an upcoming drive go to redcrossblood.org.
