The National Association of Basketball Coaches and the American Cancer Society have teamed together with the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative over the past two decades. Now, the program is coming to the high school level as the coaches in the Mid-East League will be wearing sneakers on Friday night to bring awareness about the disease. Both girls and boys coaches will participate as Riley County plays at Wabaunsee, Rock Creek travels to St. Marys, and Rossville visits Silver Lake. Donations to Coaches vs. Cancer will be taken at the gate during all three games.
