DERBY, Kan. (AP) Authorities in south-central Kansas are looking for whoever broke into a home and stole an estimated $40,000 worth of rare coins.
KFDI-FM reports the burglary happened Monday at a home west of Derby.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office says the thief or thieves broke in a back door and stole about $42,000 worth of property in all. The rare coins were contained in five briefcases. Also taken were an antique shotgun and a bag containing $1,200 worth of pennies.
