Officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Ramiro Escamilla, 32, of Manhattan on June 19, 2015 at approximately 5:30 PM on a warrant for probation violation (X4) and failure to appear. He was given a bond of $40,000.00 and at the time of this report he was confined. Original offenses included domestic battery (X2), intimidation of a witness or victim, and violation of a protection order (X2). Escamilla was arrested in the 1000 block of Pierre Street in Manhattan.
Edward Cavenee, 30, of Manhattan was arrested on June 19, 2015 at approximately 6:45 PM while in the 1100 block of Gardenway for the offense of violate offender registration act. He was given a bond of $5,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. This warrant is in regard to an incident which occurred in January 2015 in Riley County.
RCPD arrested Charles Thomas, 21, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma on June 20, 2015 at approximately 1:40 AM while in the 1100 block of Moro Street. Thomas was arrested for the offenses of battery of a law enforcement officer and interference with law enforcement. He was given a bond of $2,000.00 and at the time of this report he was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail. Police arrested Thomas after a physical altercation occurred while officers attempted to find Thomas a safe ride home. Officers utitlized an electronic control device to gain control of the situation and protect themselves from harm. Thomas was then taken into custody. Officers did not receive any significant injury.
Officers with the Riley County Police Department filed a report for kidnapping and aggravated criminal sodomy after being made aware of an incident involving two subjects known to each other. Police found that a 24-year-old victim had invited a 20-year-old male suspect to his home and was then forced to have sexual contact. Police were told that the suspect brandished a weapon for the purposes of intimidation and refused to let the victim leave for a short period of time. The suspect fled the scene and no injuries were reported. Officers continue to investigate this crime and at this time no further information has been released due to the nature of this crime.
