Rock Creek boys finish 4th in 3A

60 other teams are envious of the Rock Creek Mustangs as they ended the 3A state tournament in 4th place over the weekend in Hutchinson.  The Mustangs fell in the third place game to Central Heights 61-49.  The Vikings took it to Rock Creek in the first half as they led 34-14 at the break, but the Mustangs held a 35-27 edge in the final 16 minutes.  KJ Dobbins and Jacob Miller each scored 10 points for Rock Creek.  Head coach Jim Johnston says the Mustangs just couldn’t hit shots in the first half, going 4 of 21.

Rock Creek boys basketball finishes the season at 20-6, and ties their best ever finish at state as they also came in fourth in 1994.
