The Kansas City Royals have finally dropped a series since the mid summer classic. The Royals dropped the final two games with the Miami Marlins, losing this afternoon (Wednesday) 5-2. Ervin Santana gave the Royals a chance in the game giving up just one run in six innings of work.
Justin Ruggiano snapped a franchise worst 0-42 stretch at the plate in the first inning with a single, then added a couple more hits and an RBI in the winning effort for Miami. Jacob Turner started on the mound for the Marlins and he gave up two runs on four hits in five innings of work.
The Royals (62-56) are in third place in the American League Central, trailing the first place Tigers by 7.5 games and trailing the second place Indians by 1.5 games. The Royals will play five games in four days in Detroit starting on Thursday night with the first pitch scheduled for 6:05 pm and you can hear the game on Newsradio 1350 KMAN.
