As KMAN reported earlier, Manhattan High School had a lockout for a brief time Thursday morning.
Manhattan High School Principal Greg Hoyt sent a message to Parents, Guardians, and Students indicating Manhattan High School West Campus initiated a lockout at approximately 11:10 AM as administration and security addressed a student issue. Hoyt adds the lockout was initiated as a precautionary measure to ensure safety for everyone.
Students were requested to remain in their classroom until further notice. At approximately 11:20 AM the lockout was lifted and students were dismissed to lunch or their 5th period class.
Hoyt indicated in the note that as all USD383 schools do, Manhattan High School places a high value on a safe and orderly learning environment and thanked them for their cooperation.
