Two local residents who were arrested and charged with the first degree murder of John Burroughs, 68, made their first appearance in Riley County District Court, Friday afternoon.
Christina Love, 49, of Manhattan and James McKenith, 33, also of Manhattan, were each appointed an attorney during their first appearance in Judge Meryl Wilson’s court room.
The two were arrested on Wednesday by the Riley County Police Department, as a result of the ongoing investigation into the September 8th murder of John Burroughs, 68, of Manhattan.
RCPD made the arrests with assistance from the Kansas City Kansas Police Department, Junction City Police Department, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
Both subjects are being held at the Riley County Jail on a one million dollar bond.
