Fire near Tuttle Creek Lake in the Swede Creek area has been keeping Riley County Firefighters busy the past few days. Fire Chief Pat Collins tells KMAN the out of control blaze was first reported at 10 Tuesday night, but he’s had as many as 12-15 firefighters on the scene three different times since.
Mostly grass and driftwood around the Lake on U-S Army Corps of Engineers property is impacted–but Collins says there’s some concern regarding two or three homes in the area, especially if the wind switches to the south. Winds are expected to reach 25 miles per hour Thursday.
