TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) A former Kansas Department of Corrections employee no longer faces a misdemeanor sexual battery charge involving a female inmate at a prison in Topeka.
Shawnee County District Court records show that the misdemeanor charge of sexual battery against 31-year-old Andrew J. Grubb of Topeka was dismissed on Tuesday.
Grubb had been accused of touching a female inmate at the Topeka Correctional Facility without her consent.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that the Topeka prison was the subject of controversy in 2009 and 2010 over allegations of sexual contact between female inmates and male employees. It is the only state-run prison for female inmates.
