Brewer Sentencing Hearing Results In Prison Term

Daniel Brewer has been sentenced by Riley County courts Monday evening to two concurrent 12 to 20 year prison terms for 2 rapes that occurred in Ogden in 1981.

Riley County  District Judge David Stutzman reasoned the offenses were worthy of actual prison time, and proceeded to give Brewer the 2 prison sentences to be served concurrently, but gave Brewer time off for time already served.

Eddie Lowery was present in the courtroom, and says he is relieved that Brewer received the prison sentence.  Lowery was wrongfully convicted of one of the rapes and served a 10 year prison sentence.  Lowery was later cleared of the charge by DNA evidence.

Brewer refused to sign court documents near the end of the proceedings saying that the court was already sending him to a death sentence.
