Soto appeared via video camera from Riley County jail as Riley County assistant prosecutor Barry Disney amended several more charges to Soto’s case. Soto was originally charged with conspiracy to commit the 1st degree murder of 31 year old Steve Freel.

Soto’s charges have been amended to aiding and abetting 1st degree murder, cultivation with the intent to distrubute marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, aggravated assult, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, possession of stolen property and posession of drug paraphrenalia.

Defense attorney Larry McRell requested, and received, one more week for discovery. Soto’s next court date for status is set on the 3rd of January at 1pm in Riley County Magistrate court.
