Baylor wins 21st straight to match Big 12 record

WACO, Texas (AP)   Baylor has set a school baseball record and matched the Big 12 mark with its 21st consecutive victory.  The Bears (32-7) set the mark Wednesday with an 11-1 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, a game called after seven innings because of the 10-run rule.  Since Big 12 baseball play began in 1997, Baylor and Texas (in 2010) are the only teams to win 21 straight.  It was career victory #651 for coach Steve Smith, who the previous night passed predecessor Mickey Sullivan for the most wins in any sport in Baylor history.  Brad Kuntz (4-2) allowed a leadoff single to start the game, then held the Islanders next 18 hitless before two relievers each worked scoreless innings.  Baylor plays Friday night at Texas A&M.
