Report: K-State men’s hoops to play Gonzaga in Seattle

ESPN.com’s Andy Katz is reporting that K-State men’s basketball will head to the Pacific Northwest during the upcoming season.  The Cats will meet the Gonzaga Bulldogs on the road in the Battle of Seattle event.  K-State last played Gonzaga in the opening round of the CBE Classic at the Spring Center two years ago, as the Cats prevailed 81-64.  K-State coach Bruce Weber told Katz that he enjoyed Illinois’ previous meeting with Gonzaga, and wanted to now challenge his Wildcats.

K-State’s non-conference schedule has not yet been announced in full, but previous reports have indicated the Cats will both meet Florida at the Sprint Center and participate in the Preseason NIT.  The Cats will be one of four host schools for the opening rounds with a chance to advance to Madison Square Garden in New York City, along with Michigan, Virginia, and Pittsburgh.
