Clarion Hotel to have a Name Change

By KMAN Staff on June 15, 2012 Local News

The renovation efforts began in January, but November brings the estimated change in name for the Clarion Hotel here in Manhattan.

The Clarion will be taking on the name of Four Points by Sheraton.  This will be the first of this classification in the state of Kansas.

Right now, the construction is mostly on the outside.

“We are doing some expansion to our exterior rooms,” said Jennifer Fritchen, the general manager at the Clarion Hotel.  “We’re enclosing all of our exterior balconies and increasing the room size about five feet, so they will be a suite style room.”

After the outside work is done, they will move inside and begin working on the atrium, along with the restaurant.

To showcase the changes throughout the renovation period, there will be a couple of events at the Clarion.

Fritchen explained that in August they will be partnering with the Chamber of Commerce for a business showcase and then in November they will be hosting the chambers business after hours.
