Bruce Weber took over the K-State men’s basketball program in April after Frank Martin left the school for South Carolina. Through the transition, the group of returning Wildcats stayed intact until reserve guard Jeremy Jones left the program last week. Weber joined KMAN’s “The Game” on Tuesday afternoon, and he says Jones missed a number of team workouts in the spring and early summer. Weber says Jones was allowed to return to the team but decided a transfer would be his best option. Weber says they may add a player to fill the scholarship of Jones for the upcoming season, but it likely will be held for a year.
K-State men’s hoops will leave for Brazil in one week for a ten-day trip. Fans will get the opportunity this Saturday to see the Wildcats in action with an open practice at Bramlage Coliseum brought to you by SportsRadio 1350 KMAN. Doors open at 2:00pm with a team scrimmage, speeches from players and coaches, and an autograph session.
