Brittany Chambers scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the K-State women’s basketball team beat UC-Santa Barbara 60-45 on Saturday night at the UCSB Thunderdome in Santa Barbara, CA.  Chambers connected on 11 of 19 shots from the field, and made three of her seven attempts from beyond the arc.  Ashia Woods added a career high 11 points for the Cats in their non-conference finale.  K-State (9-3) led the Gauchos 43-35 with 11:34 remaining, but the Cats went on a 12-0 run to put the game away.  UCSB (4-8) is coached by former K-State point guard Carlene Mitchell, and was led in scoring by Sweets Underwood with 11 points.

K-State will now open Big 12 play on Wednesday night at #22 Kansas in the Dillons Sunflower Showdown at 7:00pm. Pregame from the K-State Sports Network at Allen Fieldhouse will begin at 6:30 on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN.
