The Dillons Sunflower Showdown has been decidedly one-sided over the past decade on the hardwood, as the K-State women have won 21 of the last 23 meetings with rival KU. The Wildcats and Jayhawks will open Big 12 play against each other on Wednesday night in Lawrence. K-State senior guard Brittany Chambers says KU has a great two-player game with forward Carolyn Davisand point guard Angel Goodrich . Davis leads the 9-2 Jayhawks in scoring at 15.9 points per game, and is the second leading rebounder at 5.7 a night. Goodrich has dished out a KU-high 6.5 assists per game, while she is right behind Davis at 13.4 points per contest.
K-State is on a two-game winning streak after finishing non-conference play at 9-3 with a pair of victories over UNLV and UC-Santa Barbara. The Cats though are trying to learn from losses to #24 Texas A&M and #5 Notre Dame in Vegas. Chambers says the Cats should take note of a few things from the Aggies and Fighting Irish, mainly they must value possessions and cannot make mistakes.
The K-State women make the short trip to KU to open Big 12 play on Wednesday night at 7:00pm. Pregame at Allen Fieldhouse will begin at 6:30 on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN with Brian Smoller and Danielle Zanotti from the K-State Sports Network.
