AUSTIN, Texas (AP)   Aaric Murray scored 12 points and West Virginia defeated Texas 57-53 in overtime on Wednesday night.

Jabarie Hinds added 11 points for the Mountaineers (8-6, 1-1 Big 12), who won their first conference game since moving over from the Big East this season.

Jonathan Holmes had 12 points for Texas (8-7, 0-2), which gave up a double-digit lead in the final 5 minutes of regulation, then scored only three points in the extra period.

The Mountaineers will host K-State this Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm at WVU Coliseum.  The Cats will face their former coach, Bob Huggins for the second time since he departed for his alma mater.  West Virginia outlasted K-State last season 85-80 in double overtime in Wichita.  Coverage on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN & 101.5 K-Rock will begin at 11:30am from the K-State Sports Network.
