OMAHA, Neb. (AP) C.J. Hinojosa homered for the only run and Texas eliminated UC Irvine 1-0 from the College World Series.

Chad Hollingsworth stymied UC Irvine, holding the Anteaters to four hits in his eight and a-third innings. Travis Duke finished up for the combined shutout.

Texas now moves on to play Vanderbilt on Friday in their bracket final. The Longhorns will need to beat the Commodores twice to reach next week’s championship series.

TCU will try to stay alive on Thursday night against Ole Miss.
