The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Tuesday that the squad has signed veteran safety Kurt Coleman to help bolster a somewhat spotty secondary.
Coleman is no stranger when it comes to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. Coleman played for the Philadelphia Eagles under Reid for two seasons from 2010-2012 before Reid moved on to be the head man in KC. Coleman was released by the Minnesota Vikings at the end of August after spending the off-season working out with the team.
For his career, Coleman has seven interceptions and two forced fumbles in four NFL seasons. He has played in 59 career games including 29 starts during his time in Philly.
The Chiefs also announced that they have placed linebacker Joe Mays on injured reserve with a designation to return. Mays has 35 career starts in six NFL seasons, he joined the Chiefs as a free agent in March of 2014 after one season with the Houston Texans.
