Several more details regarding the alleged murder of 70 year old Larry Arand of Belvue were released in an affidavit requested by KMAN nearly two weeks ago.
Larry’s nephew Christopher Arand faces a murder charge in connection with the November 10th case.
The four page affidavit indicates Chris Arand told a law enforcement official that he had quote “put his uncle down.” There’s a detailed description of Arand indicating he hit Larry Arand in the back of the head with some brass knuckles a total of five times, then put a plastic bag over his head to suffocate him. As for why, Arand said he’s just old and it was his time to go.
Also in the affidavit, Chris Arand talks about “all of the signs” that led him to do this. And he talked about a “program” of some sort he was on, that he thought was from the water towers and satellite dishes, with voices in his head for some time.He also talks about killing Larry Arand’s cat by putting it into a bag and slamming it on the concrete floor of the home.
Arand’s next court appearance is set for December  10th.
