Riley-County-CourthouseThe Manhattan man charged in connection with the attempted murder case earlier this month, where a woman was reportedly stabbed, appeared in Riley County Court via web cam Tuesday afternoon.
Samuel Dartez (30) was stopped by authorities in Morris County a couple weeks ago, and a standoff ensued.  Dartez was eventually arrested on 1st degree attempted murder, and his bond was set at $500,000.
Dartez was deemed eligible for a court appointed attorney.  Since he did not yet have representation, Judge William Malcolm set his case for another status hearing, to be held on December 2nd at 1 p.m.
A no contact order was also presented during the case, by prosecuting state attorney, Barry Wilkerson.  The order states that Dartez will not be allowed to have contact with his two children, or their mother.
