County Commission BuildingThe new flood plain maps, featuring higher insurance rates, will be adopted in March.  However, prior to the new map implementation, the Riley County planning and zoning department wanted to ensure they are following the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA’s) guidelines.

During Monday’s county commission meeting, County Planner, Bob Isaac shared very minor zoning regulation changes that fall in line with the requirements necessary to approve the maps.

Isaac mentioned these changes are very insignificant when comparing them to the City of Manhattan’s major variations.

The board unanimously approved these zoning regulation adjustments.
