    Updated 2:15 p.m. Thursday:

The jury in the trial of a man at the center of a shooting in Aggieville, has come back with a verdict.

Jurors in the trial of Mark Self Jr. found the 31-year-old Manhattan man guilty of attempted voluntary manslaughter and aggravated weapons violation by a convicted felon. Sentencing is set for March seventh.

The jury trial began Monday and went into deliberations at about 10:30 Thursday morning–coming back with a verdict two and a half hours later.

Self had faced a charge of attempted murder in the first degree, after he shot a man in the arm at Tubby’s Sports Bar in May of 2015.

Self took the stand Wednesday and shared with jurors that it was never his intent to harm anyone when he fired a series of shots – claiming to have been attempting to break up a crowd.
